The Company was originally incoporated as Private Limited Company as M/S
Sawant Fisheries Pvt. Ltd. on 13th June, 1972 registered with Registrar of Companies Maharashtra, at Bombay. Thereafter vide certificate of change of name issued by the Registrar of Companies Maharashta, at Bombay the name of company was channged to M/s Sawant Fishereies Limited on 13th April, 1986. thereafter the name of the Company was changed to SAWANT FOOD PRODUCTS LIMITED vide fresh certificate of incorporation issued dated 13th April, 1986 consequent on change of name.

The present activities of Sawant Food Products Limited, has been in the processing of marine catches for the last 15 years at its factory in Majiwade, Thane. The Company has so far been purshcasing the marine catches namely Raw Shrimps, Squid and Cuttle Fish, Lobster, etc., from the Sason Docks and Ferry Wharf in Bombay and processing the same at its factory in Thane.

The company has been promoted by experienced and qualified personalities and professionals. Mr. Ramesh W. Sawant.

2012
-The Company have appointed M/s. Link Intime (India) Private Limited as the Registrar & Transfer Agents (RTA) of the Company.

2013
-Company has changed its Registered office from "Survey No. 96 & 98, R.W. Sawant Marg, Opp. Golden Dyes, Majiwade, Thane (W), Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400601" to "Office No. 1-10, "A" Building, Ground Floor, Devashree Park, Kolshet Road, Thane, Maharashtra - 400607.
