Swaraj Automotives Limited (SAL) is in the business of manufacturing Seats and Seats Mechanisms for tractors, commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles. SAL, was initially called Punjab Scooters Limited, was promoted by Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC) in 1974 to manufacture Scooters. But due to unviable market conditions the company discontinued the manufacturing of scooter and finally settled into the manufacturing of Automobile Seats and Seating Mechanisms and other related products. The Company's name was also change to Swaraj Automotives Limited from Punjab Scooters Limited in 1998. Now the company is making seats and seat mechanism for leading automobile companies in the country. The major clients of the company are Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Bharat Seats, Krishna Maruti, Lear Automotive, Johnson Controls, SML Isuzu, and Sojitz etc. The company is continuously widening its product range. Recently the company set up facilities for manufacturing of Agricultural implements such as rotavator. The major products line of the company includes:
