2000 - SMIFS Venture Capital Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the
company has acquired a strategic 20 per cent equity stake in the
nascent Adventus Knowledge Systems Pvt. Ltd.

- SMIFS Capital Services Ltd. has acquired 4,64,300 No. of equity shares
of BSL Ltd. (formerly Bhilwara Synthetics Ltd.), which translates into 6.33 per
cent of BSL's paid-up equity capital of Rs 7.3 crore plus.

- SMIFS Capital Services Ltd. has become a subsidiary of the company by virtue
of alloting 75 lakhs equity shares on October 28.
