The Company was incorporated in the year 1976. The Company a group of the Birlas is mainly engaged in the manufacture of caustic soda alongwith chlorine and hydrochloric aid.

Future prospects for caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid are bright. Bihar Caustic is placed in an advantageous position as it sells production to Hindalco Industries, another leading Birla group co.

2009

- Company name has been changed from Bihar Caustic & Chemicals Ltd to Aditya Birla Chemicals (India) Ltd.

2010

-ABCIL has Won FICCI Award 2009-2010 for Community Development

-ABCIL Won Environment Excellence Gold Award 2010

-Mr. Lalitkumar Shantaram Naik has been appointed as an Additional Director of the Company

2011

-Aditya Birla Chemicals acquired Chloro Chemicals Division from Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd.

-ABCIL won WCM Excellence Gold Award 2011

2012

-Greentech Environment Excellence Award (Gold) 2012

-Aditya Birla Chemicals has recommended dividend @ 5% i.e. Re. 0.50 per share

2013
-Aditya Birla Chemicals acquires Chlor-Alkali & Phosphoric Acid Division from Solaris Chemtech Industries Ltd.
-Aditya Birla Chemicals commences commercial production of Brown field project.

2014
-Aditya Birla Chemicals (India) Ltd acquires Chlor-Alkali Division (CAD Division) of Jayshree Chemicals Ltd.
-Aditya Birla Chemicals (India) Ltd has recommended dividend @ 15% i.e. Rs. 1.50 per share on the paid up equity share of Rs. 10/- each.
