The Company was incorporated as a Private Limited Company on 26th February 1987 & was converted into a Public Limited Company on 17th August 1990. The Company was promoted by the Goradia Group ,under the stewardship of Shri Himatlal P. Goradia, Shri Pranay H.Goradia and Shri Ashish H. Goradia. The Goradia group had their interest in steel Trading and manufacturing of Automobile and Electrical parts, as stated in the prospectus for the public issue in February 1991. The object of the Company is to carry on business of manufacture and marketing of all kinds of ferrous and non-ferrous forgings and allied products and to carry on all or any of the business of manufacturers, processors, smelters, refiners, importers and exporters and to set up steel and furnaces and continuous casting and or rolling mill plants. The project of the Company as stated in the prospectus was to manufacture Open Die Steel Forgings of International Quality.

The technical collaborator of the company is M/s EdelstahlwerkeBuderus AG , Wetzlar, Germany.

In 1993-94, it achieved a sales turnover of Rs 1465 lakhs and profit of Rs 4 lakhs.
