The company which is the succesor in interest of Maxwell Industries which was engaged in marketing of hosiery products and readymade garments under the brand name of "VIP" and "BLUE CHIP" was incorporated on 14th January 1991 as a Private Limited Company. On 1st October 1991 the Company took over at book value, the ongoing business of Maxwell Industries. The company was converted into Public Limited Company on 5th September 1992.

2005

-The Company has recommended payment of dividend @ 5%

2006

-Maxwell Industries has given the Bonus in the Ratio of 3:4

-Company has splits its Face value of Shares from Rs 10 to Rs 2.

-The Company has recommended Dividend @ 15%

2007

-A final dividend of 10% on the equity shares of the Company was recommended by the Board.

2008

-The Company appointed Mr. Deepak Maheshwari on the Board of directors as an additional director.

2009

-The Company had entered into an agreement with Eminence, a corporation, registered under the laws of Republic of France for manufacturing, distributing and selling the men's & women's Innerwear, Pijamas and socks under the Brand name Eminence.

-The Company appointed Mr. Manish Chhajed as an additional director of the Company.

2012

-The Company had opened its 1st Exclusive Retails Store in the name "Inners" the inner wear studio for all the inner-wear at Kopar Khairane, New Mumbai.

-The Company had opened its 2nd Exclusive Retails Store in the name "Inners" the inner wear studio for all the inner-wear at Kalyan-Murbad Road, Kalyan (West), Thane.

2013
- Maxwell Industries Recommend dividend of Rs. 5/- per share on 5% Redeemable Preference Shares of Rs. 100/- each. Recommendation of 25 paise (12.5% on face value of Rs. 2/- each) per share on Equity Shares .

2014
-Maxwell Industries Recommended dividend of Rs. 5/- per share on 5% Redeemable Preference Shares of Rs. 100/- each. Recommendation of 0.20 paise (10% on face value of Rs. 2/- each) per share on Equity Shares.

2016
- The name of the Company has been changed from Maxwell Industries Limited to VIP Clothing Limited and the Company has received Fresh Certificate of Incorporation pursuant to change of name. Also the trading symbol of the Company be changed from MAXWELL to VIPCLOTHNG.
