Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd. was incorporated on 12th September, 1984 as a Public Limited Company in the State of Maharashtra for setting up a composite steel plant for the manufacture of Mild and Alloy Steel Rolled Products in Bhandara district, near Nagpur, in Maharashtra. Sunflag Steel is a member of the Sunflag Group of Companies. Sunflag Steel is incorporating the most sophisticated Steel Making technologies in collaboration with Krupp Industrietechnik GmbH, Mannesmann Demag Huttentechnik, MDS Mannesmann Demag Sack GmbH and Hamburg Consulting and Steel Engineering GmbH of West Germany.

The Sunflag group was founded by Shri Satytadev Bhardwaj in Kenya in 1937. It has grown steadily and has spread its manufacturing operations in 6 countries spanning 3 continents.

In 1988, the accounting year was changed from 30th April to 31st October and again in 1989, changed from 31st October to 31st March.

2002

-Mr VBS Bharadwaj has ceased to be a Director of the Company w e f January 28, 2002.

2003

-Melting Transformer has been repaired and installed. Steel Melt Shop is in fully operation effective from November 4, 2003.

2006

-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd has recommended Dividend @ 5% on Equity Shares

2007

-Mr. Jagdish J. Shirke has been appointed as the Company Secretary & Compliance Officer of the Company.

-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd has recommended a final dividend @ 2.50% on the Equity Shares

2008

-Shri S Gajendran has been appointed as an Additional (Independent- Non Executive) Director of the Company.

-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd recommended a final dividend @ 5.0 % on Equity Shares (i.e. Rs 0.50 per equity share)

2009

-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd recommended a final dividend @ 5.0 % on Equity Shares (i.e. Rs 0.50 per equity share)

2010

-Company has entered into a technological pact with Japanese steel firm Daido Steel.

2011

--Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd recommended a final dividend @ 5.0 % on Equity Shares (i.e. Rs 0.50 per equity share)

2012
-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd has approved the re-appointment of Mr. Surendra Kumar Gupta as the Whole-time Director, designated as Director & CEO

2013
- Amendment / Modification to the Companys "SISCO - Code of Conduct for Prevention of Insider Trading" to bring it in line with the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations.

2014
-Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd has approved the appointment of Mrs. Neelam Kothari, as Woman Director, (Non-executive, Independent Director) of the Company.
-Appointed Mr. Kumar Jitendra Singh, (non-executive, Independent Director) as additional Director of the Company.
