The company, incorporated in 11th February 1972 as Steel Cast Bhavnagar Pvt. Limited was subsequently, in 1988, converted into public limited limited company and also changed its name to the present one. The company is the flagship of the Bhavnagar based Tamboli family.

The company has a technical collaboration with Kurimoto Limited of Japan. It manufactures 6000 tpa of a wide range of casting products including austenitic manganese steel and high chromium ferro alloys, catering to diverse industrial sectors like cement, mining & mineral processing, industrial machinery, earth mining and construction machinery.

Today, the company has carved a unique niche for itself and supplies to customers like Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Northern Coalfields, Century Cement, Kesoram Cement, Raasi Cement, Bharat Earth Movers, Hindustan Motors and BHEL among others. The company also exports to various countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Switzerland etc.

2005

-Steelcast has recommended a dividend @ 18%




2007

-Steelcast has recommended dividend @ Rs 4.80 per equity share (48%)

2008

-Steelcast has recommended dividend @ Rs 3.60/- per equity share (36%)

2009

-Mr. T Kumar and Mr. Chetan M Tamboil has been appointed as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Company respectively

2010

-Steelcast has recommended a dividend @ Rs. 1.50 per equity share

2011

-Steelcast has declared dividend on equity shares @20%

2012

-Company has splits its Face value of Shares from Rs 10 to Rs 5

-Steelcast Ltd gets quality assurance certification from the Association of American Railroads

-Steel Cast has given the Bonus in the Ratio of 1:1

2013
-The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 1.80/- per equity shares.
-Mr. K K Mehta has been appointed as Company Secretary & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company.

2014
- Ms. Neelam Ahuja has been appointed as Company Secretary.

2023
-Commissioned company's 5 MW Solar Power Plant.
