Naraingarh Sugar mills Ltd. (NSML) was incorporated as a Public Ltd. company on 1st Aug, 1991 under the Companies Act, 1956. The certificate for Commencement of Business was obtained by the Company on 15th January 1992.

Registered Office of the Company was shifted from NOT of Delhi to the State of Haryana vide CLIB orders dated 30.9.94. NSML has been promoted by S/Shri Shashi Bhushan Mahen, Baldev Singh Kang, Romesh Chand Sud, Inder Kumar, Avninder Thakur, Surjit Singh Kang, Vijay Mahen, United Vanaspati Ltd., Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (HSIDC) and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Ltd (HAIC) in the assisted sector. The company is setting up a plant for the manufacture of white crystal sugar alongwith facilities for cogeneration of power.

The original Letter Of Intent was issued in favour of the promoter company, United Vanaspati Limited on February 13, 1991 and was subsequently converted in the name of NSML on August 6, 1992. The Ministry of Industry vide their letter dated 25th September, 1995, has granted a licence No. CIL.64(95), against the letter of intent LI: 112(91) dated 13.2.91. The Industrial Licence will be valid for a period of 2 years within which commercial production is to be established.

-The company has shifted its corporate office from SCO: 367-368, Sector 35B, Chandigarh to SCO: 151-152, Top floor, Sector 8C, Chandigarh.
