The Company was established in 1976 as a partnership firm under the name Arvind Chemicals and was registered as a Joint Stock Company under Part IX of the Companies Act, 1956 with effect from 20.03.1992 and the name of the company was changed to Arvind Chemicals Pvt Ltd. and subsequently it was converted into a Public Limited Company on 16th December 1994..

Since 1976 the company has been engaged in the manufacturing of chemicals such as Di Amyl Pthalate, Di Butyl Pthalate and Di Ethyl Pthalate. The promoter, who is in chemical business since about last 3 decades has decided to continue the manufacturing activity and also go in for chemical trading.


CURRENT BUSINESS

The Company is engaged in the manufacture of chemicals such as Di Amyl Pthalate, Di Butyl Pthalate and Di Ethyl Pthalate. To broadbase its field of activity the company proposes to diversify in trading of chemicals i.e. Phenol, Formaldehyde, Polyol, TDI and Titanium Di Oxide.

From Annual Report 1996-97:

The actual performance is lower than projections because of the fact that the international prices of Chemicals in which the company intends to trade has been on the downtrend and the management has decided to start a new venture to improve its performance.

2007

-The Company has issued Bonus Shares in the Ratio of 2:1.

2011
-Company has Consolidates its Face value of Shares from Rs 10 to Rs 100

-Company has changed its name from Arvind Chemicals Ltd. to Gujarat Metallic Coal & Coke Ltd.

2014

-The Registered office of the company has been shifted from old location to No.155, Lenin Sarani, 4th Floor, Room No. 402, Kolkata - 700013.
