The Company was incorporated on August 2, 1962 in Alwaye, Kerala for the Manufacture of Cotton Yarn with a Capacity of 12000 Spindles. In 1966, the company was taken over by the present promoters, the Patodia GTN Group. In 1983 GTN established another Unit at chitkul village, Sangareddy Taluk, Madak Dist. in Andra Pradesh. GTN is engaged in the Manufacture of cotton yarn , mainly of finer counts and at present exports 99% of its turnover. It has Constantly modernised its production facilities.
The Company has the two subsidiary companies Namely 1. G.T.N Exports Ltd. and 2. Packworth Udyog Ltd. The Company belong to the Patodia - GTN Group.
1996-97: The Nagpur unit of the company has been awarded the ISO 9002 certificate. With Aluva & Medak units already having the certificate, the entire production at all the three units is covered by the ISO certification.
Patspin India Ltd., a 100% EOU, has been promoted by the company along with M/s Itochu Corporation, Japan & M/s Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. The company has contributed Rs 8.64 crore towards rights issue undertaken by Patspin India Ltd.
2002
-GTN Textiles has recommended a dividend of 17.5%
2003
-The Stock Exchange - Ahmedabad (ASE) has conveyed their approval of delisting of equity shares of the Company from their Exchange.
2004
-The Managing Director of GTN Textiles Ltd, Mr Mahendra Kumar Patodia selected as Vice-Chairman of CII (AP)
2005
-GTN Textiles has recommended a dividend of 12.5%
2006
-Company has changed its name from GTN Textiles Ltd. to GTN Industries Ltd. and the trading symbol of the company be changed from GTNTEXT to GTNIND
2007
-Registered Office of the Company has been shifted To Chitkul Village, Patancheru Mandal, Medak District, Andhra Pradesh - 502 307
