The Company was incorporated as a private limited company on 15th June 1984 under the name "The Dhar Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd." in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently the Company was converted into a Public Limited Company by passing a special resolution in its Extra Ordinary General Meeting held on 01.04.1994 and a fresh certificate of Incorporation was issued by the Registrar of Companies, Madhya Pradesh on 05.01.95.

The Company has a unit to manufacture Coarse Cotton yarn used in industrial and apparel fabrics manufacturing with an installed capacity of 3600 tpa. The unit is located at sector I Industrial area Pithampur Dist. Dhar a notified backward area in M.P. The Company presently produces yarn of the count range 6s to 20s . The unit was originally set up in 1986 with 640 rotors in 4 open end spinning machines imported from M/s Strojimport, Czechoslovakia.

The Company made cash profits from its very first year of commercial production. After establishing the presence in the Coarse Cotton Yarn Industry the Company increased the production capacity from 4 machines to 10 machines thus taking total No. of rotors to 1616, the present capacity. The company is one of the largest coarse count manufacturing mill in the country with a wide count mix. The plant operated at 96.91% capacity utilisation during the year 1994-95 and the Company is in the process of implementation of a project for manufacturing of `Processed Heavy Cotton Fabrics' which would provide a value addition to the company's existing product line and would be a step ahead towards forward integration of the operations of the company.

The Dhar Textile Mills Limited entered the Export market in the year 1992 and is currently exporting to countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand and Gulf countries. The company further proposes to explore new markets and expects the Export turnover to increase from Rs.487.31 lacs for the year 1993-94 to Rs.1396.23 lacs for the last year 1994-95.
